KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg today dismissed the manifesto of Pakatan Harapan (PH) to return Sarawak’s rights to the state as “old stories”.
“Lama cerita (old stories). He (Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad) was the prime minister for 22 years and why now?” he said when met by reporters after launching of Sarawak Career and Training (SCaT) Fair 2018 at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching here.
He was prompted for comments on PH manifesto which touched on restoring Sarawak autonomy if the opposition coalition came into power in the next general election.
Abang Johari said the Prime Minister “has given us a lot of rights and Petros is an outcome of our negotiations with Datuk (Seri) Najib (Tun Razak)”.
The Chief Minister added that Dr Mahathir “is recycled” and many things would crop up as “election is near”.
